Solid or engineered — which do I need?
Above grade with a wood subfloor, solid is the classic choice and can be refinished many times. Over concrete, radiant heat, or below grade, engineered is more stable. We'll test your subfloor and tell you honestly.
How long does installation take?
A typical main level (500–800 sq ft) takes three to five days including sanding and finishing. Prefinished boards are faster; custom stain adds two days for drying between coats.
Will it work with radiant heat?
Yes, with engineered boards or quartersawn solid, plus strict temperature limits we set with your HVAC contractor. We verify the system before quoting.
Do you move furniture?
We move and reset standard furniture as part of every job. Pianos, aquariums, and built-ins need a specialist — we'll coordinate one.
How do I maintain it?
Dry microfiber mopping weekly, a manufacturer-approved cleaner monthly, felt pads under everything, and a recoat every 7–10 years. We leave written care instructions at the walkthrough.
