Laminate or vinyl — which is better?
Vinyl for anything wet: kitchens, baths, basements. Laminate where it's dry and you want a harder, more wood-like feel underfoot — living rooms, bedrooms, offices.
Does it sound hollow?
Cheap installs do. Ours get dense acoustic underlayment and flat subfloors, which is what actually controls sound — most visitors can't tell it isn't wood.
Can it be repaired if damaged?
Single planks can be swapped by working back from the nearest wall — another reason to keep an attic stock box, which we always leave you.
Is it good for rentals?
